Workshop Description
A critical aspect of a environmental projects is successful stakeholder management planning. It is vitally important for project sponsor and managers to identify the project stakeholders for the various project phases and their varying degrees of authority, influence and expectations. Project sponsors and managers must understand the overall stakeholder community and determine the optimum level of effort to allocate to each stakeholder. Then, they need to strike a balance between the stakeholder engagement effort needed to maintain supportive stakeholders and the effort to minimize the impact of those stakeholders who are not as supportive.
While many experienced Project Managers seem to achieve this balance intuitively, applying a proven stakeholder management planning methodology will improve consistency and the probability of successful project outcomes. This course discusses how to identify, plan and engage stakeholders. This course looks at stakeholders spheres of influence, including strategies to mitigate or enhance such influences. This course includes tools and techniques gleaned from over 50 years of project experience.
Based on environmental case studies, learners identify potential impacts of stakeholder requirements to the project's scope, schedule cost, quality, communications, resource, procurement and risk management plan. Specifically, learners become skilled at identifying stakeholder objectives and requirements, managing stakeholder expectations and requirements as well as aligning scope with stakeholder requirements
